Aviation academy
Studies towards obtaining a PPL(A) (Private Pilot License, Aeroplanes), which is achieved with two years of studies, are started at the lead of a flight instructor. The aviation academy consists of theoretical studies, exams and flight training. Kalajokilaakso Aviation Club’s aircraft is used for flight training. Studies guide towards professions in the aviation industry. The costs for flight training are thousands of euros, but the theoretical training is free in upper secondary school. Flight instructor and check pilot Esa Salminen operates as the teacher. A medical examination is required for the pilot license.
